Karwa Chauth is celebrated on the chaturthi tithi after the full Moon in the month of kartik in the Hindu calendar. Karwa Chauth to be observed at moonrise (chandrodaya vyapini) and poorvaviddha, best if its tritiya viddha. If visible during both days take the first one, if not visible on both days then take the second one.
Married women fast one whole day without food or water for the long life of their husbands. The ritual signifies extreme love and devotion to the husband, as evidenced by the wife's willingness to suffer for his well being.

More than a fortnight has elapsed since a Japanese company, Daiichi Sankyo, announced its plan to acquire a controlling stake in Ranbaxy, India's largest drug multinational. But reactions from political parties or trade union leaders continue to be unusually muted.
Of course, nothing much was expected from Congress leaders, who are understandably preoccupied with graver issues of national and international significance - bringing the inflation rate under control, salvaging the India-US civil nuclear deal and most importantly keeping the government intact while at the same time preventing an early election.

Eenadu (ఈనాడు), headquartered in Hyderabad, India, is the largest circulated Telugu news daily in the state of Andhra Pradesh. According to NRS (National Readership Studies) 2005 it has got a readership of 1,13,49,000 and is the third most read daily in India.
