Miscellaneous: 18k Gold-Plated iPod shuffle Signals Downfall of the Civilized World

Normally we skip over these bullshit gold-plated gadgets, but this 18-karat gold-plated iPod shuffle's picture was so pretty we couldn't resist. We would've been even more impressed if it were solid 24-karat gold, but we'll just have to settle for this gold plating. There's just something strangely appealing about the irony and incongruity of the cheapest iPod clad in the most elegant of metals. It's just so, uh, inappropriate. How much does it cost?

Tech: Sony PS3 Is 100 Dollars Cheaper Now!

Sony announced a 17% price cut on its video game console PS3. It must be aimed at wooing buyers from Nintendo's popular Wii. Perhaps we can see Microsoft following suit with their Xbox 360. By reducing the price tag to $499, Sony is probably now selling the console at cost rather than pocketing profit left by falling

LetsDiscuss: Are you for or against SC/ ST reservations?

Do you think that government quotas for SC/ ST candidates in India are justified? How necessary do you think reservations for backward communities are, when it comes to education and career opportunities? Should quotas based on an individual's community background be reduced, increased, allowed to remain, or done away with altogether? Are they still a necessity in our country today? We invite all readers who have an opinion on this subject to post their views. If you are from an SC/ ST background, and have any experiences to share in relation to reservations, we'd like to hear about them too.
