LetsDiscuss: Raj Thackeray arrest sparks violence in Maharashtra
MNS chief Raj Thackeray's arrest has triggered incidents of violence across Maharashtra. Despite heavy police deployment, MNS workers tried to block traffic in Navi Mumbai. Angry MNS activists have attacked the taxis in Parel and Mahalaxmi areas. Taxies parked at Tardeo in south Mumbai have also been damaged by some unknown miscreants who fled on motorcycles, police said. Two separate incidents were reported in the north-west suburban of Borivali where miscreants attempted to burn trucks.

LetsDiscuss: Sachin Tendulkar Run Record
Sachin Tendulkar on Friday became the world's leading run scorer in Test cricket, surpassing West Indian batting legend Brian Lara's record of 11,953 runs. The 35-year old master batsman achieved the milestone during the second Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Series between India and Australia in the northern city of Mohali. Tendulkar scored the record-setting runs off bowler Peter Siddle before later being dismissed at 88 for a career total of 12,027 runs.

Angel di Maria’s goal gave Argentina its second Olympic soccer title in a row, a 1-0 victory over Nigeria on Saturday. Di Maria collected a through ball from Lionel Messi in the 58th minute to give 2004 winner Argentina another gold medal and leave the Nigerians, champions in 1996, the silver. Brazil won the bronze on Friday by beating Belgium 3-0 in Shanghai.

News: Heavy Monsoon Rains kill 18 in India
Monsoon rains crumpled homes and triggered flash floods in southern India, killing 18 people, an official said Saturday. Parts of Hyderabad and two other districts of Andhra Pradesh state were inundated when 4.7 inches of rain fell in less than five hours Friday, said Navin Mittal, a government official.
