Habib Miyan played the clarinet in a maharajah's orchestra before retiring 70 years ago. However, there is much dispute over his actual age. Although he said he was 138 years old, his pension book showed him to be a mere stripling at 129 - and the Guinness Book of Records has been unable to verify his age at all. Miyan, who lived in Jaipur in western India, had no birth certificate but has collected a state pension for decades. News: 5 years Old Blind Baby Pianist Play Mozart Tune

Blind five-year-old pianist from South Korea has stunned the music world after a video of her performance received more than 27million hits. Yoo Ye-eun, who was born blind and adopted in 2002, has never had a formal piano lesson but can play any song after just one listen.




And now her remarkable talent is set to propel her to stardom as clips of her amazing performance have attracted millions of viewers to Korean website Pandora TV. A similar clip on YouTube has so far received two million hits. Her display on 'Star King', a Korean talent show, earned the youngster £500 in prize money and moved the studio audience to tears.

News: Worlds Largest Hand Written Quran Guinness Record


"It's the biggest Quran in terms of size and font, which was compiled in one volume," Chishti said, adding, "It has 63 pages and the size of each page is 60x88 inch." "Each page has a colourful border around the text, featuring flowers of different sizes and seasons," he said, adding, "At the beginning of each surah (verse), the word ‘Bismillah' (in the name of God) is written in a different calligraphic styles, which go back to the Prophet Mohammed's time," he said. Chishti, a Sufi research scholar and a khadim at the dargah, said the Quran represents the true essence of Quranic calligraphy. "I feel honoured after accomplishing the gigantic feat," he said, add-ing that every page has an average of 40 lines. Chishti said he began his professional life as an Urdu teacher in a government school, but gave it up in 2003 for the devotional endeavours. Movies: Indian Dancers Set Guinness World Records in London


More than 200 budding dancers braved the weather in Trafalgar Square to break a world record for Bollywood dancing. The five-minute routine had people of all ages and backgrounds dancing to classic Indian show song Om Shanti Om. The 212 people who took part earned themselves a place in the Guinness Book of Records. The event was part of a dance-themed festival organised by BBC Blast, which caters for teenagers and young adults. Hosted by Strictly Come Dancing's Erin Boag, it encouraged young people to break several world records including largest number of football freestyle tricks in one minute and largest number of street dance moves in 60 seconds. A Lucknow University teacher, Madhurima Lall, has made it to the Limca Book of Records 2008 as the 'highest qualified woman'. She has two D.Litt degrees. With that, Uttar Pradesh too would for the first time find a mention in the Limca Book of Records. 'The Limca Book of Records has acknowledged me for my two D.Litt (Doctorate of Literature) degrees in applied economics and business administration,' an elated Lall told IANS Thursday. A person with two D.Litt is very rare. Normally after Ph.D, a student stakes a minimum of five years to complete D.Litt, added Lall. Lall has been teaching in the Lucknow Univesity's commerce department for the last twenty years. Movies: Zee Kannada set Limca Book of World Records


Zee Kannada has entered the Limca Book of World Records for its unique handkerchief campaign in support of the Indian team in the Cricket World Cup 2007. The channel's record breaking feat is mentioned under The Biggest and the Smallest section. Zee Kannada is the first Kannada channel to enter the record books. The campaign, launched in February 2007, saw the channel's team travel across the state to over 50 schools, 25 colleges, IT companies, NGOs, media houses, malls, institutions, shops, and succeeded in collecting over 55,000 hankies, thus creating the world's longest chain of signed handkerchiefs.
