Tech: Google Offers Staff Engineer $3.5 Million To Turn Down Facebook Offer

A staff engineer at Google being heavily romanced by Facebook was offered a jaw dropping $3.5 million in restricted stock by Google (this means Google is handing over stock worth $3.5 million based on its value today, and that stock will vest over time). He quite wisely accepted Google’s counter offer. Facebook lost this one.

LetsDiscuss: Many a slip between the USD 25 billion cup and the lip

Dell Inc. denied an Indian government release that Chief Executive Officer Michael Dell discussed shifting procurement from China to a “safer environment” with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Dell's business in China is USD 25 billion and our dear Mannu was eyeing to dip India's fingers in the huge hardware business pie

Health: High Fructose Corn Syrup Causes Bigger Weight Gain In Rats

High Fructose Corn Syrup Causes Bigger Weight Gain In Rats. Why should we even bother to know this? Because in US every other processed food contains this as a sugar substitute and the health "benefits" of this are just coming to light. Just want to make readers aware of the bull**** going on in the western world, so that if we start seeing leery things like these on food packages we know not to consume them.

LetsDiscuss: Is 3 idiots confusing the nation?

Ok, so 3 idiots, the current Bollywood flick is officially the biggest blockbuster of Indian cinema. An amazing movie with a terrific plotline and characters. Topping it all is the brilliant message it delivers encouraging one to follow the heart, rather than go by the conditioning of parents when it comes to choosing ones profession. At the same time it encourages the pursuit of Excellence rather than the pursuit of Success. A nation agrees but I am a little confused.

Masti: Moments today... Memories tomorrow!!!: I Know What's On Your Mind!!!

News has emerged from Google’s offices that should send a shiver down every employee’s back (and make Human Resources jump with joy). Google, concerned by the recent departures of several top executives, has developed an algorithm to try to identify which employees are likely to quit, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. The algorithm would crunch “data from employee reviews and promotion and pay histories in a mathematical formula” and would show which of its employees were the most likely to quit soon. Laszlo Bock, who runs human resources for Google, told the Journal the algorithm helps the company "get inside people's heads even before they know they might leave."

LetsDiscuss: Human beings are a virus - Agent Smith

I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species. I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You move to an area, and you multiply, and multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet, you are a plague, and we are the cure. --The Matrix
