Movies: Rock On Review

Who hasn't had a row with a friend? Time to make that call and hug the friend you didn’t patch-up with ages ago. That's the warmth you feel while watching Rock On!! In the end, you connect, and that's what counts!

Movies: Bachna Ae Haseeno

It's a reasonably mature look at relationships and gives women actual, believable roles to play. But alas, the finer points lack polish and the wimpy, predictable end completely disappoints

Movies: God Tussi Great ho Review

The Salman Khan style of 'acting' doesn't allow us to take the otherwise interesting concept, of a human being taking over as God for a few days, too seriously.

Movies: Ugly aur Pagli - review

The mysteries of love, and the things it makes you do, are not so easy to articulate. As we find out in Ugly aur Pagli. The uneven pace kills this time.

Movies: thoda pyaar thoda magic - review

Though I have huge complaints in most departments, I can't deny that it's perfect packaging for kids in the 3-12 age group. With hardly any "sad" moments, the characters are mostly colorful and chirpy. But, given my reservations, should I actually encourage my kids to watch this when not too long ago Taare Zameen Par was around? Oh, why not? There's enough room for everybody.

Movies: Get Smart - Review

Do prepare yourself for outrageous action and stunts. You won’t have time to dwell on thinking how unrealistic any of them were since at this point your logic has stopped functioning. That’s a good thing.

Movies: Review - De Taali

A 2.5 hour long movie. With about an hour's worth of smiles, laughs and hard-core laughter filled in. All because of fresh dialogue and awesome comic timing. You have to be willing to tolerate the many out of place songs and the "sheeeeesh" climax though.

Movies: Bhoothnath

The thing that attracts me most these days to movies with superstars in them is the curiosity about the script they have chosen.

Movies: Hope and a little sugar - review

Hope & a little sugar is a love story with a backdrop of terrorism. Yet it has no speeches and has a very subtle narration style. Worth a cozy DVD watch.

Movies: U Me Aur Hum Review

U Me aur Hum: A sensitive, stimulating aur sappy theme with romantic, idealistic aur mushy characters who have thoughtful, filmy aur repetitive lines.

Movies: Review - Valu

Valu takes you to the interiors of rural Maharastra with its adorable characters and their wit. It is a slow yet charming watch. However, you could get lost in translation if you don't understand the language.

Movies: Review - Checkmate (Marathi)

An interesting premise, an interesting narrative style loses fizz due to lack of dynamism in overall execution.

Movies: Review - Jodha Akbar

Painstakingly made but painfully long. The history and politics is interesting but the teachers seemed to be in a rush to cover the course material. What we do know now though, is romance 450 years ago was same as it is now. It is a visual treat nevertheless.

Movies: Review - Mithya

The tongue-in-cheek, sharp humor might not make you roll on the floor but surely makes you laugh out loud. Unfortunately this is only in the first half. The crisp plot withers away and the acting wanes as the climax approaches.
