Movies: Good, bad and ugly of animation movies in 2008
There were quite a few animation films that released in 2008. However, not even one of them turned out to be successful at the box office. ROADSIDE ROMEO at least stood out from animation point of view while JUMBO made waves due to Akshay Kumar factor. However, rest just fizzled completely hence putting a question mark on the future of animation films in India. Aah, one can finally heave a sigh of relief! Ever since the release of GOLMAAL RETURNS, Bollywood hadn't seen a single money spinner at the box office. Now after six weeks of outright drought, RAB NE BANA DI JODI has brought smiles back for all in the industry (well, leave or take a few who continue to be cynical about the film's success). As expected, the film opened to close to 50% start and started recording 100% collections as the evening shows commenced.
