Patents are pending on Europe's first furnace fired entirely by soiled nappies, constructed for the Liebenau Foundation, an operator of rest homes in the south-west corner of Germany. Nurses and carers at the handicapped and old people's homes are proud that every disposable diaper helps save a little fossil fuel.

Tech: Creative Zen Stone

MP3 players seem to be getting smaller and lighter with each new model. Some may lack features or just not have any, but hey, all I want to do is listen to music. What's next - an MP3 player that fits directly into our ears and plays music? But truth be told I

LetsDiscuss: Rs 700,000 crore worth shares in President's name

Everything about Rashtrapati Bhawan has been pretty much the same since it was built in 1931, but the presidential palace's new occupant next week will find that the office is the custodian of fortunes worth over Rs 700,000 crore (Rs 7,000 billion) in terms of share prices alone. This includes about Rs 600,000 crore (Rs 6,000 billion) worth shares in the name of the President of India across about 50 listed firms, while shares worth another Rs 100,000 crore (Rs 1,000 billion) in another 10 companies are registered in the name of the President's nominees in the central government.

Tech: Motorola's Z9 Prototype Leaked

So Motorola has got something up its sleeve and it's a pretty snazzy looking slider phone. The Z9. Apparently it's going to need a carrier and AT&T has made its mark on the Z9 with a browser key and AT&T firmware. Among the specs are a 2-megapixel camera, with a flash and MicroSD external memory support. It's going to run on Motorola Synergy OS and can support live video sharing. The buttons do seem to be a bit tiny so I

Business: Three "Centrino Duo" Laptops For Students

Admission season is upon us and with a lot of new students all set to enter MBA/ IIM/ Engineering colleges, one thing they need to purchase to allow them to work seamlessly, is a laptop. A laptop for a student is a necessity now, as most campuses now days have Wi-Fi. Enter, the Big Daddy of all phones! The E90 may look like and perhaps feel like any other communicator, but is it really? The answer is a resounding NO! The previous models, although still quite popular in many arenas has nothing on this baby. With a combination of elegance, style and a sturdy demeanor, the new addition to the business i.e. "E" class of Nokia phones has promised to overshadow its predecessors.
