LetsDiscuss: Unknown white flying smokey object reappears; passes through Singtam

The thick white smokey lines that were observed on different part of Sikkim last November again reappeared today. The unidentified smokey lines passed through the heart of the Singtam bazaar to the other side of the hill was witnessed by large crowds at around 7.37 am this morning. Shekher Pradhan who took the photographs told that the object did not have any sound and could not be identified whether it was fighter plane or not. He added the object had its white smokes following a path and it took a little over 5 minutes to cross the Singtam sky.

I am sure people around have heard about the Lingtam Pani Ghatta, traditional water mill used for grinding flour. I was at this house a few minute ride in a vehicle from Lingtam bazaar. The owner of this pani ghatta an old lady was not happy on my un invited approach to her house.

After her successful Hindi audio album Khwaish, Sonia Sheikh from Singtam is all set to act as a leading heroine in a marwari film ‘Khoto Sikko’,to be produced and directed by Rakesh Somani. The film highlights the lives of the migrant Marwari community living in the state for generations, has gone on the floors. Raunak Somani from Gangtok plays the male lead.

Last week I was at Gangtok to watch Rahul Gandhi and among those people whom I met across my ways was surprised to see me what was I doing there in Opposition party’s meeting. Do I not have those rights to go and watch opposition leaders be it Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi or shall I have to fear if Manmohan Singh, the Prime Minister of Indian comes to Sikkim.

This is a national song of Sikkim sung in Nepali language during the monarchy system which was later banned, after Sikkim got merged with India and later re-released with the change of two words on the 4th para where it says "Janmah bhumi" that had an original word "Rajah and Rani". This song was dedicated to the King and Queen of Sikkim.

On my way to Gurudongmar lake the land beyond Thangu, North Sikkim became absolutely desolate with beginning of the Himalayan rain-shadow zone of cold desert that merges with Tibetan plateau. The mountains were painted heavenly with the beautiful tones of colors reaching the altitude of almost 20,000 to 25,000 feet ASL. Surprisingly I could see snow on one the side of the peaks only with local yak population grazing in the open pastures located on the steep slopes. I present you this peerless landscape for strange biodiversity India carries with its topography.

I hear people are earning enough from eBay but i find myself fortunate towards ebay....at-least i had that opportunity to come across those photographs. These old and rare photographs clicked during the British era catch old the picture of then Darjeeling. I share with you all these postcards.
