oh my gosh I know the comment i am about to give will start an ongoing discussion
My goodness, yesterday after I was done blogging I went to watch some tv and eat, I changed the channel to "Headlines Today" and i was getting shocked, surprised, and kept on saying oh my god every second I was in front of my tv set.
First of all I saw they were covering an IPL game of Rajhistan Royals like they are a team of ESPN. So hats off to the news channel.
Then I saw how well the players were playing, the freaking stadiums were filled, just the highlights made me say it was a huge thing.
Next I see a press conference, and I stopped eating at that time and gave my ful concentration on what the hell is going on in front of my eyes. A freaking PRESS CONFERENCE in a game like IPL. That is huge guys, absolutely huge., first of all that creates enormous numbers of jobs, then it encourages literacy, more magazine i am sure are on the way, and it just hypes up things, it means more people will be coming to the next game, i mean it is a very important part of the game. The first thought in my mind was a bit selfish one, It was "kash pakistan bhi esa kuch kerta" I mean a press conference after a game, not the real cricket game but just any other cricket game in pakistan is unseen and unheard of.
Then I see that the captain of Royals is shane warne, i was like, my eyes literally popped out. shane warne, why the hell is he in IPL. he makes enough money and even more in australia, it is great for india, but i really think he made a bad move by coming to india. Unless ofcourse some of u guys can prove me wrong.
moving on to other teams, I see white coaches, white players, and a photo shoot, man i compare everything happening in india to pakistan and other neighboring countries, and i say it will take a century to catch up to India, a photo shoot is also unheard of in pakistani cricket team.
And then the good thing was that these cricketers were not the usual ugly cricket players, they were actually good looking players, which creates a huge fan polling. And then this is absolutely great for the real indian cricket team.
I always used to think Shoaib Akhter in India? I get it financially and i even like this move by him, but I always used to think how can the Pakistanis let him do that, now after seeing shane warne play i think the world can play for India.
moving on I see an election that is happening in India, now i have no interest in that, but the news just making the tv and others caring even a little bit is a huge thing, u realize how much money an election makes. that is the best thing that happened to pakistan in 2007, and america always makes trillions off of their elections, and even though these elections are small, an election was a thing missing in India, the young bloods of India now also have a chance to look at the elections and understand this concept as well.
Now I loved what i saw, but man the anchor's english was soo bad and thick accent.. One thing I think Indians do not do is polish the stuff... they do stuff to just do it, they don't do stuff to fully satisfy themselves, I am not saying they are not hardworkers, but they can do a much better job at everything they do, and YashRajFilms is a great example how a polished work looks like.
Next i went to share this with my sister who as usualy had her i-pod on, was on her lappy, and reading neuroscience, anyways I tell her "appi u always critisize pakistan of how bad they are right?" she is like ya, then I am like have u ever thought of how they can improve themselves, she is like ya we need a better government, I am like can i tell u my point of view, she is like go ahead, Then i go off talking about the success of India, and kept asking her whther she is listening to me more of concentrating on other 6 things she is doing, I bet u guys she didn't hear anything i said... anyways i call my dad at that time and he was on job, I tell him how great india is doing, he is like i hate people who degrade pakistan, i am like I am not degrading pakistan, I am just appreciating wt india has done, and I want the same momentum to shift over to pakistan, he shut the phone. then as u guys might not know, I am a huge observer and really interested in psychology, so I didn't give up, I call my cousin and talk to him about the greats of India, and he started talking good about Pakistan, and once i kept going on and on he started to say yea yea yea, making me feel like i am a fool.
In conclusion I figured Pakistanis still haven't gone over the hump. They consider the U.S as the only true country they must catch up to. I wouldn't call them rascist, but they still have hatred for Indians, and that kind of goes both ways I think Indians too are not really amazed by Pakistanis. Then Pakistanis are just dumb man. They might be great students, but only in engineering, science, which will get the country no where. Because Science and engineering is its own language, its own world. For example, my mum always say that either u ar becoming an engineer, or a doctor, or a lawyer, the thing is Pakistanis simply do not get that there is a lot more in this world then becoming a doctor. I love the Indian government so much, because they know how to explore jobs and make new fields for young guns to have interest upon. India has gone to space as well guys. When will pakistan do that. In the past 50 years, I think two great things happened to pakistan, one was the seperation from Bangladesh, and the next one was becoming a nuclear power.
Now they will be smart to actually get something out of IPL at least.
@rizzy this is a great comment, shows a lot of maturity that you are able to think this way. I agree that Pakistan still hasn't gone over the hump, but feel that it is a matter of time before pakistan is able to do it, end of day, there the people are same it is just that lack of political stability hasn't allowed people to concentrate on economic growth. If the new govt. can create that environment for growth, there is no reason why Pakistan will not be able to catchup.

My questions upon India:
what is the difference between english premier league and indian premier league? I get the meaning in the name it self, But I don't get why english players are in Indian league and why is not called Hindi premier league.

@rizzy thats a very thought provoking question. But I would like to give Indians some credit upon this thought. Maybe we are more global and open than the english. We have around 32 languages spoken in India and many southern states hate being called hindi land. Hence we call our league indian and not hindi.

@ nameless thank you for such a great compliment... and thank you for your hopes, because whenever I try to tell pakistanis that everything will be okay, their usual reaction is nop nothing can happen now, they consider their own country a trash, and encourage people to not make a living there, then how will anyone else care for pakistan.

@rizzy i agree with you and nameless, basically what you say sounds like India around 10 years ago. I used to hate my country, its trash it can do nothing, but here we are and so will be pakistan if it gets the right kind of leadership.

On the same day I also saw that khali was in India, and surprisingly has made more money than shaq's visit to China, for those of you who do not know who shaq is, he was a former superstar of the NBA, still considered a star and is playing currently for Pheonix Suns.
Anyways that is a big news on its own, khali has also signed up for a movie, his first film and he will be paid 1.5 crore. Now we hear that Badshan of bollywoo SRK is giving Khali has a treat to his kids.
I thhink khali is just another treat for India, its economy, and its people.
I am so amazed at whatever that is happening in india, its like me witnessing something so special, and it is like every second there is a new thing to be excited about in India. I really hope peoplestart cutting down on the number of babies they make, then India will be truy elite.

@rizzy - educated population is one reason why india is looking up. We churn up far more number of doctors/engineers/scientists/managers than anywhere in the world. And yes you are right along with controlling population, providing them education will make india truly elite and it will take some time before it happens.
I have differing opinions about Khali, Khali is WWE strategy to capture market share in India. All the publicity that is going on is to make sure WWE is followed well in India. Hats off to Vince McMahon or whoever is running WWE, Khali has captured imagination of India.

@ garfield, it helps we enormously but it also helps India. In many ways, people will start to explore Indi as the next big stage to promote themselvs, imagine a wwe itself in India, anything is possible and yes a awesome move by whoever is running wwe. it also, once again encourages some physicality, which is not apprent in youngs of India.

@rizzy i dont think thats entirely correct, physicality should be emphasized but violence is not mandatory. Im just worried about the impressionable minds who would think that what WWE dishes out is normal stuff. Kids who will try choke slams on their sisters etc. NBA is far far better than WWE anyday and I wish khali was a NBA star instead.

but really wwe is ok dude, and also it helps tv, tv viewership, another business in india, it also encourage ppl to go out and buy a tv... and so on

Ha ha rizzy you are rite i tried chokeslam on my sister - luckily or unluckily i was not too good at it. I guess the younger generations are just getting better, I just wish none of them are better at choke slam than I was otherwise they might end up killing their sisters. YOu hit the right point when you say everything has its negatives. But there is always a question on return of investment. Is encouragement to people to buy TV a good enough return for losing a few thousand lives to stupid stunts. I guess not, ask the american govt which attacks a whole country when few thousand people die.

Quote " Is encouragement to people to buy TV a good enough return for losing a few thousand lives to stupid stunts. "
Hell yes, Hell yes, and Hell yes, without any doubt, killings from stunts should not even make the news if it happens in India, because India can afford to lose people, heck it is good for the country if it looses some people, that is the main reason I encouraged a War. And of course it is a huge thing in America, because America is so phucking developed they think of drive, the incident, and its consequence before even attempting the incident. And ain't no city in India that developed just yet, now some individuals are and they are doing an exseptional job at importing these ideas into others, but its not happening when one person has to teach at least 10 million.
Of course america would get mad, and they do have every right to go to war on anyone who kills or humiliate the Americans. Because for one they don't have too many people to waste, but even bigger is because they are the effing country which sits above all, it is the country running the UN( United Nations), it is a country who has come a long long way, it is a country who is developed more then any next seven developed countries put together, and most importantly its people are appreciated, and its people are in true sense the GOLD of this world, because they are so well, so well, ke kya bataon. get my point, i am actually out of words on this comment.

@rizzy :-) you have just said what america stands for. I believe that when one is truly great one would not be self absorbed. Indian people are far more GOLD than americans. Take indians / pakistanis away from America and see what you are left with.
