ਘਲੂਘਾਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ੯ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰਵਾਰ ਅਹਿਮਦ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਲ਼ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾਕੁੰਨ ਜੰਗ ਲੜੀ। ਇਸ ਜੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਬਦਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਉਹ ਆਹੂ ਲਾਹੇ ਕਿ ਅਬਦਾਲੀ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਪਨਾਹ ਮੰਗ ਗਈ। ਬੁਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੇ ਜ਼ਲੀਲ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਖ਼ਤਾਂ-ਤਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਹਿਮਦ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਬਦਾਲੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਅਜੇ ਪੌਣੇ ਦੋ ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮਰਹੱਟਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਭਿਆਂ ਕਰਾਈ ਸੀ
