News: Widow punished for entering in temple ?

It is really shameful that a lady was punished badly just because she was a widow and she entered in a temple.

    Really shameful especially since we let foreigner widows run the whole country and dont even let indian ones enter the temples. I hope the priests of that temple are punished well by God.

    Well thanks joey and pal. but I wonder why someone chose to rate my comment negatively. @rizzy, you are right india is a democracy but india is also a state which is run not by hindu law but Indian penal code. If there was any punishment to be meted out to the widow, it should have been from the indian govt., at best the priests could have shooed the widow out of the temple. I dont know of a democracy where you strip and parade a women naked because she entered a place she was not supposed to enter. I don't know of any hindu teaching which suggests the same punishment for any crime what so ever. So were the priests justified in their action?
