News: Rapidshare Bans all BSNL IP's

Effective from a few hours before, Rapidshare has banned all the IP's of BSNL, India. When a user tries to load the rapidshare page, an error is being displayed saying "Massive RapidShare hack attempts detected. IP block 59.90.0.0 - 59.99.255.255 blocked. Please call your internet provider." There is no idea as to when Rapidshare will unban the IP's. Will update you on the situation ASAP. Keep watching this space.

i guess they will do something about the paid users, also chances are that a major part of the rapidshair paid users are from India so they will quickly un-ban the bsnl for sure!

I doubt that this ban can be lifted without much thoughts. Reasons: Rapidshare has detected that too many IPs from the range are being used to "hack" the accounts of RapidShare.

Which seems more or less like that of a DoS (or Denial of Service) attack has been launched by a complete net of "bots" which might be end users' machine who are infected with these bots and are trying to launch the attack from the user's own machine without their knowledge.

If they lift the ban and see again the attacks being originated from the range, then they have to stick with the ban.

i think they will have to come out with some other suggestions as the ban will have to be lifted early as majority users are Indians......but again there are hacking problems, so they better come out with some good suggestions.......
