    nobody in the right mind will pay this for a site such as rambhai. there is no moderator control & Rambhai is becoming a spammers paradise!

    all of this information is based on adsense, i doubt that this site will be making 144 USD per day from adsense adverts only?

      rambhai is not a "spammers paradice" but i agree that those figures are way too much exaggerated...

      a sites value only depends on how much one is willing to pay for it... which will again depend on how much it is making, being on the web for so long i can make an educated guess that rambhai does not makes so much... even digg/facebook/orkut/youtube has problems of making revenue, that's the nature of social sites actually...

      that being said, its still the best place to hangout and chat about Indian stuff... its the best Indian social bookmarking site on the net :) and has a lot less spam than other similar sites...

      Thanks for being behind Rambhai.com seoharmu :-), we agree spam on social sites is a big problem.

      We would take this opportunity to announce that Rambhai has deployed an automated self learning spam management system.

      We now also have a self learning content rating system where we are able to sort out stories in queue based on the likelihood of Rambhaiyyas enjoying these stories.

      We are also working on coming up with recommendations for individual Rambhaiyyas.

      The comments section does attract a bit of spam, that is one item on our list to fix.

      Hopefully we will continue to get your support. We are all ears to any suggestions which would help make Rambhai make more interesting for all.

    @Rambhai, most of the stories hitting front page are cut, copy & paste stories! Some of the good one's don't make it to front page - but that is the nature of the social media! See the upcoming news section - most of the material is cut, copy paste job from many popular sites & most of them make it to the front page!

    Go to Indianpad etc - the spam level is low and user's are actively discouraging spam!

    If a story hits front page - 300 people come to the blog from Indianpad - yet if a story hits Rambhai's front page - hardly 3 visitors come to the blog - so most of the users are blindly clicking on stories on Rambhai to get points of Karma - this makes sure that their submitted stories hit the front page!

    The whole system plays into the spammers hands!

    full of copied articles from article base or somewhere - yet it hits front page! see the whole site, it is a MFA (made for adsense) site, No original content! any comments!

      @Rampal thanks for your inputs. Indeed these kind of things happen at times. We need a stronger Rambhai community and stronger community action.

      As long as Rambhai is of value its of value to spammers as well and they will keep on trying to find ways and means of manipulating and beating the system. Once in a while they will manage to do so. At those times community members should mark such stories as "bakwaas" If enough community members mark a story bakwaas, these stories are pushed down or buried.

      At the same time, please do vote for the stories you like. If the Rambhaiyyas do this right and regularly we are able to generate enough training data for the filters to recognize these spammers.

      We agree with you that there is no better way to grow Rambhai community than having the best stories on the home page always and give the real bloggers the traffic they need.
