News: Petrol may cost Rs 17 more!
The relentless rise in international oil prices that last week touched an all time high of $135 a barrel has forced the government to mull options to save state-run firms, which expect a revenue loss of Rs 200,000 crore (Rs 2000 billion) this fiscal on sale of petrol, diesel, domestic LPG and kerosene. "One of the options being considered is deregulating petrol prices," an official said. "The country's preferred auto fuel diesel will, however, continue to be subsidised even though a marginal Rs 2-3 a litre hike in prices may be announced."

Ouch Ouch that may really hurt - I think govt wants to settle to around Rs 10 hike thats why announcing 17.
i think once again the poor consumers are going to suffer the pain
First, cut the no.of cars to the politicians to strictyuly 1 and then enforce all the govt. servants to use public vehicle. for that, govt may hire normal bus, and pick up the govt. servants as does in MNCs. Promote train travels with some incentives. This will atleast change the scenario a little bit. You know, in malaysia, people are not allowed to travel alone in cars. !!
rsk very interesting opinion. This is a big problem in India. Politicians and govt servants abusing facilities. However currently the problem is global crude prices. Oil is trading at 137$/per barrel as compared to 50-60$/per barrel last year/. Prices have mire than doubled globally. Its not an issue with our consumption. India's consumption of oil is still not even half as compared to the developed world. I also agree with your opinion that we need to cut consumption. I urge everybody in the world and India to stop using big cars, big SUVs to drive to office. Small cars are fuel efficient and cause less jams. Try and pool with other people (although this one is a bit tough in reality, i fell out of a car pool very recently) CNG should be encouraged, in delhi lots of vehicles are on CNG which is a cleaner and inexpensive fuel(as compared to petrol). I think Politicians should be buried under the earth so they dont have a chance to move ;-)

All this politicians should pass away,in days like jan 01, dec 25, apr 14, and on other festival days, The reason is The people should celebrate this day and the TV should entertain the people. I wish this should happen. Am i right?
hey garfield it seems you hate the politicians to the worst levels. even i dont like them but your hatered is something which can be clearly seen through your writing. any personal experience with any one? as far as the oil and petrol consumption is concderned I feel that one or two individuals or countries cannot really make a difference by minimizing their consumption. it should come from all the developed countries of the world and especially from the so called king USA. I feel the media can and should play a crucial role in making aware the people about the dire consequences of over usage of oil and petrol.

Well denny, i dont have any personal exp with any of the politicians. But, still i want to tell u onething. I saw a famous tamil film in which superstar rajnikanth tells, "Lion will always come alone, only pigs comes in group". Have u ever seen how politicians come and go. And I wish, in the voting ballot, one more column "president or governor " should be included and every citizen MUST vote. Bring the voting machine house by house and get thier vote in person in their house itself and see who will win. Surely I will win.

But one thing is sure, do u know how politicians live longer. it is just they always think think think think about how to cheat others. So, you all just think always how to help others in ur older days and sure you will live longer.
hey rsk you are comparing the politicians with pigs. i hope you have taken the permission of the pigs. I am sure they might feel offended and put a defamation case on you. as far as voting is concerned everyone knows that cheating happens there and we should do somehing to change the entire system. any suggestions......
well,i can fire many comments regards that PIGS, but i feel it might disturb rambhai.com. However, whenever possible we all together fire the PIGs. For denny, now pigs are asking the other pigs that how many young pigs they have per year/season. And pigs wonders, how that pigs works without getting tired.
