News: New CM : Lingayats want Shettar or Ananth

Bangalore : Member of Parliament D V Sadananda Gowda may be outgoing Chief Minister B S Yedyurappa's choice for his successor, but he will not be able to count on the Lingayat lobby of Belgaum to back him. Several Lingayat MLAs, MPs and MLCs from the region are expected to vote for either minister Jagadish Shettar, senior BJP leader Ananth Kumar or state BJP president K S Eshwarappa. Most of the leaders, including Abhay Patil, Balachandra Jarkiholi and Raju Kage have decided not to support Yeddyurappa's candidate and openly back those suggested by the Ananth Kumar group.
