He had to choose between sweeping the streets of the Capital or helping out at the camp — punishment for harassing a woman. Talvinder chose the latter saying, "Gande kaam mei kyon padoo?" ("Why should I get into dirty work and sweep?") The MLA and an accomplice were booked in 1992 for forcibly entering a woman's house and harassing her.
