Deposits of silica detected on Mars in 2007 by the roving robot Spirit were formed by volcanic vapors or hot-spring-type events crossing through soil. They could also contain traces of past life, scientists reported in a study out Thursday.

I think if its profitable to have life on Mars, US will declare that to the rest of the world irrespective of whether there is life or not. Soon americans will be selling land on Mars.

ha ha ha, you forgot to mention that US will wage war against poor martians, then they will conquer and sell Mars.
But my inner mind tells that Because of foreign policy, US will definitely land in trouble and thier dooms day starts. The future US will be in the hands of India and Asia.
