Palaniappan Chidamabaram will be India's new home minister. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] will hold additional charge as finance minister. Chidambaram replaces Shivraj Patil [Images], who resigned on Sunday, owning up responsibility for the Mumbai terror attacks. Congress sources said Chidambaram is a man who can plan strategy and execute it in time of crisis. A Congress source told rediff.com,"We understand that India has the sympathy of the people and governments all over world." Chidambaram was minister of state for internal security in the Rajiv Gandhi government, at the height of the Punjab crisis. Dr Singh was finance minister in the P V Narasimha Rao government.

But, Chidambaram is only good at economies and business, Even in that the country is facing more troubles...

He does not have good background knowledge in Home ministry.

Why did he be elected as Home Minister?

Congress is trying all possible magics in the political drama...and BJP is crying as usual.

Chidambaram is a wrong person as Home Minister.

Chidambaram would be no better than Shivraj Patil.... and this will be more devastating as he will handle an area which he is not good at, PM Manmohan Singh will handle the dual responsibility of Finance minister and Prime Minister.....

he cant handle one responsibility properly how will he manage two???????

Congress is not a rising star, but a dooming sun, counting its fatal future.

We need change, Just neglect the parties where sons and daughters are given chance to power.

Irrespective of the parties, just vote for independent candidates, if he joins some party after elected, then go for another independent candidate.

The national parties should know thier supports are punished like this. This will worse the political scenario and then only some sort of solution will rise.
