It was clear when the movie was being made, that the story was incorrect and would create a Controversy. Ashutosh Gowarikar the Producer and the Director of Jodhaa Akbar had claimed in an Television Interview that he had researched the story from the books that were written by the then Rajputs and by Akbar's Followers.
