Plastic surgery has become a part of our society. Many people, not just the rich and famous, undergo some type of cosmetic plastic surgery procedure. In fact, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 11.7 million people had cosmetic plastic surgery in 2007. In that same year, the five most popular plastic surgery procedures were liposuction, rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, and tummy tuck. In a National Geographic article, Dr. Ivo Pitanguy, a world-famous plastic surgeon, was quoted saying, "Today society accepts the improving of one's image."
