TV shows are meant to entertain us, but they can also offer some insight into the careers they portray. While shows about cops can sometimes exaggerate and glamorize the gritty and occasionally mundane world of law enforcement, they do a small part in offering some background to what these brave men and women do every day to protect their cities.
