This seems to be faaaar from the truth, as the people who access Internet are generally IT aware and have some basic knowledge of english and Hindi typing is a tough nut to crack, hence people prefer to chat in Hindi using Roman Letters.

Sitting cozily at our home with our laptops and broadband. Maybe we forget the most of the netizens from India surf from cafes. Their idea of internet is rediff and yahoo chatrooms and sleazy porn. They will spell hindi in english when they surf ( woh bhi galat ). Im sure they would prefer to have content in hindi, although they are forced to see english.
