Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has demanded that her mentor and BSP founder Kanshi Ram be honoured with Bharat Ratna, the country's highest civilian award.

Thr r sum other gr8 personalities whch r been deprived of this award.bt y kanshi ram???? i dnt thnk he has done ne thng gr8 for d country xcept for Uttar pradesh n mayawati :D

I think he should be awarded Dalit ratna, maybe he did a lot for Dalits and Mayawati. Atleast Im not aware of significant contribution to the nation as whole. If he was indeed someone who was able to get dalits into national mainstream, then he definitely deserves bharat ratna.

If I have a power to take any decision about awards I would like to stop giving Bharat Ratna and Nobel peace price.

I know few politicians playing game for Bharat Ratna but I also notice few orange, brown and white color religious so called spiritual personalities wants Nobel peace price.

I think this is all a game like Oscar, emmey, tony awards for people in politics and religions.
