These are questions being thrown upon day in and out at the forums, at the coffee club and everywhere bloggers get together. Everyone wants to know how to get to the top quickly with the minimum effort. It would be nice if someone

It is easy to preach & difficult to achieve? How many stories you submitted reached the front page of Digg?

exactly, i had been unsuccessful to hit front page with 140+ diggs and remember digg dosenot allow first time toppers to reach front page, you will have to get 100+ diggs for quite a few of your stories before they start apearing on the front page...

not easy at all, however the bottom line is to keep working on your sites, because if your website or blog is popular and has good content, some day it will hit naturally...

Seoharmu, i thought that you shd. hit the front page with 67+ diggs. you got 140 + diggs & still did not hit 1st page?

must be a good article!

Did you use diff. ip addresses? if the ip addresses are clustered in a small geographic area then they are negated, IMHO!

don't try to manipulate digg, that dosenot works. if digg is not banning you, it just means that digg is trying find out the rest of your circle and once they do, they will ban it all.

try to build a powerful profile, that's the easiest way to get stories on the front page.

BTW seo, did u notice that all rambhai links have been made no follow?

Now this makes rambhai extremely useless? even if you were to hit home page it used to give so little traffic that it's not even worth mentioning! to top it all no follow! Did you notice that rambhai has lost some steam!

No doubt this has been done to prevent rambhai being a spammer haven, which it was becoming of late!

So very little traffic on making to homepage & no follow - will all net savvy guys leave rambhai?

rambhai has always been no follow, its just that the coments links in the pligg are dofollow which is a pligg fault so rambhai, just like any other social bookmarking sites is giving out dofollow links on the comments... otherwise the outgoing links from the story title and the urls were always nofollow.

but, i think its time for rambhai and others to go dofollow on the story detail pages. Here is another suggestion, those that has karma - 8+ will get dofollow story details page links. that way, activity will also increase and spammers will never able to reach that high in the karma points, so only good stories will get the link juice.

Nofollow dosenot help stop the link juice, this is due to google's latest fault, even if you have no follow links the link juice still goes out and if its nofollow it just don't reach the destination rather the link juice just dies...

for example - a page has 5 links, 3 nofollow and 2 dofollow, then 20% of link value will go out from each link and 60% of it will die in the nofollow links and the rest 40% will reach the two dofollow links.

So, if there is a link, even if its just a site page, it will still drain link value and if its no follow then the link value will just die. but that being said, rambhai can't link to spam sites, so its important for rambhai to plan the out going links and make sure that only good sites and stories are linked out, and karma is a good solution for that...
