Wow this is a biggie for Tatas. But im just wondering if Tata will be able to extract some value out of these ill fated luxury cars which guzzle fuel like a barrel. But looks like Tata has it all now, a 1 lakh Rs Car and a 1 Crore Rs car. Bravo to Tatas.

I was skeptical few years ago when Tata announced the project "under 1 lakh cars", but eventually, i was happy to be wrong. Nano still has long ways to become a credible venture. Now, to be honest, i am again skeptical about Tatas ability to turn the wheels of profit on Jag. The challenge does not play naturally into Indias strength, viz., low cost and tech innovation. Its a marketing challenge.
