Etruscan language was an extinct scripted and spoken language of the Etruscans, who occupied Italy in the period from IX to III century BC on the territory of nowadays Tuscany, Umbria , West Lazio, Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy, where they were driven from Gaul and Campania, where they were assimilated by Samnitite.
