Yup.. I was prepared for the excessive work part.. but the mental torture part is totally unwanted.. I think medical field is the only field where you are never appreciated.. In fact we are ridiculed for doing good work too.. so this has to change..

U must be joking when you say this ???? --
"You will clean chairs for an attending and make sure that there is no nail protruding out of it before she sits on it. (Yup, these are usually the female kind.)
- You will hold a packet of biscuits for an attending, while he enjoys “Chai Biscuut”. (Yup, these are usually the male kind).
- You will probably repair scooters and receive relatives for some attending.
- You will probably work as a personal assistant for some of the attending’s relative who will think that the Civil Hospital is his/her personal property."

yup.. sadly these things are an integral part of internship.. if we can't please our attendings then we can't get our completions signed.. And all this gets even worse during residency...

Residency is what you call post graduation in medicine or surgery or obs-gynec.. And it's pretty common to do such non-professional stuff.. It's sort of a tradition in training us for everything.. that is why most of the doctors turn out to be grumpy and greedy... We start seeing the lighter side of these things after a while.. For example, once my senior in Orthopedics got slapped so hard that the tympanic membranes in his ear burst and he could not hear from that ear for a long time.. And yet we used to laugh at the mention of this incident.. This is life for us :)
