What if in the name of religion we have done for centuries is simply perpetuate the bigotry and conflict of galactic proportions and without questioning have followed “On earth, as it is in heaven(s)” - each religion dreaming of a different heaven - of a different galactic empire.

Very interesting awmyth as usual. However this is just another theory which can neither be proved nor disproved. There are so many which exist when it comes to God. I dont know if there is any merit in beleiving in anyone, however one thing is for sure. There are two distinct things - religion and philosophy/or science. Religion was always meant to create strife and create a gap in mankind. When you identify yourself as a xyz believer - you immediately differentiate yourself. Its like branding and it was always meant to create a feeling of superiority.

I wouldn't even call it a theory, it was just one of those "what if" thoughts - set off by a comment to mine on another blog.
I was told to even question the Bible was blasphemous. And the only way to 'heaven' was through christianity. That Hinduism like all non christian religion was satanism.
It made me think if such bigotry is essentially a human characteristic - or if this on a truly 'universal' level.
I wouldn't ever dream of trying to prove or disprove, the point I tried to make is there are many clever scientific brains who could apply our 21st century knowledge to explain events written but never questioned - be it in the Bible or Koran or Mahabharata.
that is a very good post awmyth, i just wanna say that all the religions are great and none is the superior to the other and therefore all are equal and there is no question of one religion being right or wrong....
