Reading something comprehensive on a topic like Moral Policing was a refreshing change! Kudos for a well written article.
It is sickening to see the sight of the way the country is going especially thanks to the fanatic political parties who seem to have nothing productive to do and so turn to traumatize the young couples in the city.
Instead of addressing the core issue of no privacy, no space, they want to fight the manifestations. How do they expect to solve the problem? They don't, they lay laws which are impossible to be followed logically, democratically and practically and then beat up people who do not follow, thus gaining political mileage.
Couples who should be proud of being together, wish to shy away and feel embarassed when encountered with any authority and hence become the target of such groups. Policemen who don't find time to look after crimes, are busy doing "moral policing"
Billboards, Advertisements and Banners are being torn down because they are ethically and morally not appropriate.
A simple base would be to understand, that times are changing like you said, and that there's nothing wrong in a woman being treated as an equal like men. This fact should be accepted by both the sides for it to be a truth, I wonder why men want to display their superiority in such cases which only emphasize their insecurity. It's unnecessary and stupid.
All this without being able to justify what are the morals, who sets them? In a democratic country, I have every right to say what I want as others, and unless specifically mentioned in the law, I am not guilty of any offence.
But on the whole, we fail to have created this atmosphere of confidence and trust, and hence fall prey to their mechanism.
It's time we felt proud of our actions, and lived our lives according to what we feel.

If you look very closely into the issues, you will find there is a general trend.. identify soft targets, hit them , get accolades and show the people that you are doing a great job.
Look at the segment they are targetting, people who will not be able to call up a minister or threaten them or file a case in court. The police and the government are the most rotten instituion in India now and the judiciary inspite of being pretty good in most cases is simply acting stupid in some cases, particulalry when it concerns sex and private life.
You can be rest assured taht this institutions will never ever dare to check out for "morality violation" in the following places; 4 star 5 star hotels, private resort of big people, call girls who has got a respected client list. They will target bar girls, prostitutes on the street, middle and lower middle class couples in park and so on. Each "success" gives them a media attention and some promotions.. job well done boys!!! You have saved the HOLY COW!!
Nobody knows who gave them the damn permission to teach people "morality"
If you look at rest of the world you will find conutries in Europe, Asia, Australia and America who are basically moral pervert in all possible respect as per our definition are years ahead of us in all good things in life except for so called "morality". We don't learn from history or from present, we just look for easy targets, cheap solutions and easily won battles and goodies.
I am not telling that "moral perversion" is the key to success, what i am telling its the most insignificant issue to bother about for a government and private life of citizens and particularly sex life is in no way a concern for the government under any circumustances.
We as a nation has got lot of potential, its very sad to see that we are growing internally sick for the people we have in the institutions that constitute the governace. We are paying for our crime in voting in a set of sick, directionless, and clueless people into governace.
At least we hope that the next to next generation will have a much better India to live in, at least by that time the old guards will thankfully retire or die out.

Denny, congrats for getting a blog. however, i would suggest you to start a blog on a domain because a blogspot blog will be the property of google only...rnrnanyways, back to the topic, yes you are right, these 'gundas' are actually trying to moral police the world but they are the ones who dosenot have a moral themselves. Though am very happy that 'gay' [ http://www.rambhai.com/News/Homosexuality-Decriminalized-India-truly-Liberalized/ ] is now allowed in india, atleast thats a victory of individualism and democracy :)rnrnAbout those old minded politicians, i would suggest them to die, their time and thoughts do not hold any value, its time they all connect to their own gods and plan on going to heaven [hell actually] and leave the open minded youths to create a more free and democratic India.
