ya tweety i think u r correct except this abolition of sati and some contribution towards woman's education and abolition of untouchability, they have destroyed the country....
i think majority of ppl of England never wanted this but due to the corrupt officers and greedy Britishers our country became the victim....
but even after so much of suffering we have stood back though not completely, but still respectably......

hmm.. but would they have abolished sati, dowry etc. if some of our own hadn't stood up, like Raja Ram Mohan Roy, et al.?? I think not.. that reformation would have taken some of our own leaders.. I mean.. why would the British care 4 our customs when they did not care for the people anyway..

hey kumpal sir i definitely second ur point that if it would not have been for some of the Indian leaders nothing would have changed....
i just said that they didnt opposed these Indian leaders and that was the only good thing they had done in their era of ruling the country.....
