LetsDiscuss: Karnataka bans sale of mobile phones to kids


Like smoking and liquor, Karnataka has banned sale of mobile phones to children below 16 years of age.I appreciate this stand of the government but at the same time I wonder if such statutory warnings do make lot of difference!

    But 16 yrs.old hardly goes to the shop to buy a mobile phn.there parents buy for them...what the use of this rule???

    These rules serve as Statutory warnings...The trigger has been the trend in schools where children are using mobile phones increasingly which is not good and should be discouraged.The above rule also encompasses(if you read the article) the use of mobiles in schools and collges...

    Rightly taken, but isn't cell phones making your kid more traceable, rather shd be taken in right spirit. It is obviously foolish to compare cell phones with ciggs and alcohols.
