    yeah.. it is a moment of great pride for India. However its also a pity that although Rehman is getting international recognition for slumdog, still slumdog is not his best work.Many of his works like Roja, Dil se, Rangeela, Taal are much better but because they were bollywood movies, rehman was literally unknowns to the world.

      There is too much of hype over SDM - whereas better hindi movies did not make it to the oscars!

    this is the perfect argument that can be a tight slap on the face of Oscars....

    i mean i personally feel that Jai Ho is a good song but definitely not that good to deserve an Oscar....

    anyways we have got two Oscars and this is the fact that the world will have to live with before blowing off our country.....

      thats exactly what i meant... nw that the movie was made by a firang.. this song got the attention. My personal rehman favs are Roja and Bombay.. which I feel is anyday better than slumdog.

    Rahman has been recognized for his talent internationally with the film - "Slumdog millionaire".He richly deserves it.

    Its just the beginning for the enormous Indian talent pool and their creativity.

    hey even i feel that this is a positive for our country.... from next Oscars we might have at least a couple of nominees and once in two years we might win awards....

    this is just the beginning....

    but i too feel that Roza and Bombay were classics....
