I am not a great fan of soft drinks, however when I do buy one it has to be coke even if I have to drive an extra mile.

Is there really such a thing? How much of devotion to "brand" is actually devotion to that semi-abstract entity that has been built around a company, and how much of it is loyalty to something else?

OK, so you've got Pepsi, and you've got Coke; provided they don't change, there's a pretty good chance of "brand loyalty" ... to the product. But what if you're a Pepsi person, but Coke makes cooler clothes and branded material? Wouldn't you be just as likely to drink the Pepsi and wear the Coke?
I'm suggesting there really is no such thing as "brand loyalty ;-))))

As far as soft drinks are concerned, my family is extremely dedicated to coke. Brand loyalty does exist as far as the soft drink is concerned. We would not like to drink pepsi, unless there is no choice.
