LetsDiscuss: Cleaning of Yamuna delayed !

Yamuna may not be a clean and sparkling river during the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, as the government had been promising till some time back. The close to Rs 4,000 crore interceptor sewage system, being touted as the `ultimate' solution for Yamuna's woes, is not likely to be ready by 2010. Now saying the aim was to clean the Yamuna and not necessarily in time for the Games, officials say the project should be complete by 2012.

Delhi govt. is always making some or the other excuse for delaying projects!

Why can't we for once have projects completing earlier than scheduled?

this is the matter that has been gone on for too long....

i just cant understand why the ppl and the media are not pressurizing them to clear the Yamuna river as soon as possible....

this is just not the way to treat the ancient river....

Another typical example of the 'chalta hai' attitude. Yet another task left for the last moment which would ultimately go incomplete.

Lol...Politics is not quite my cup of tea..I just know how to comment on issues :) They say belonging to the Indian political areana demands a complete demolition of personal ethics....something which I can't dare to...Even if I had the guts to do so, I wouldn't know which party to join coz all seem to be having similar motives i.e corruption and personal gain...One may argue, in that case why not go ahead and form your own party..So my reply would be..there are more political parties in India than the number of secondary schools...

Anyway, I'm a simple IT Professional, residing in one of India's metropolis..Kolkata to be precise..

BTW..was there some kind of sarcasm involved in your statements?
