NDTV has toned down its openly pro-Pak policies since the Mumbai attacks.They mistook Pak civil society and art and culture scene to be the true identity of Pakistani state.The Pak state takes advantage of all our jhappi- shappis and does a 26/11 on us.For the first time Barkha and friends had to speak out against (and how they squirmed while doing it)Pak and its acts and policies.None of us has a commitment to hating Pakistani people but for a media channel to misrepresent the state of affairs in Pak is unacceptable.The Pakistanis are master charmers and they put their 'Human Rights variety' of people upfront to deal with our'intellgentsia and channels and the ISI and the army works behind the scenes to create mayhem in India.This is what the journos and channels need to understand.Most of them are in their thirties and green behind the ears where understanding Pakistani state is concerned.
Well i think Paki government is having no control on military and ISI cause it was Mushrraf who planned Kargil war and arrested Nawaz Sharif. . . He supported and started terrorism and when he started supporting America then these terrorists attacked on him many times. . . Now the husband of Benazir is in government but still no steps to find who planned to kill her? . . It shows that government and intelligence work separately there and its ISI which is responsible for terror attacks in India and government is not able to stop them
the government is not able to stop them because the governmet doesn't wants to stop them.....
if a person who is honest and is in power will turn the whole world upside down to find the killers of his wife but here we have Mr Zardari who hasn't discussed this issue in front of the media since a long time..... it doesn't feels that he has ever remembered his wife after she is gone.....
as far as Barkha Dutt is concerned i used to respect her a lot when she fought the Kargil war but then over the years she has done a lot to lose the respect......
she feels she indulges in journalism of truth and courage but in reality it is a journalism of stupidity.....

You all are going off topic. The crux of the story is that Barkha Dutt has ABSOLUTELY NO journalistic ethics or common sense. But here are actions and indiscretions that could have (or MIGHT have!!) put many lives in GRAVE danger during the height of Mumbai carnage and hostage drama..
If the terrorists are going to read this post, they know that they have a friend in Barkha Dutt. So that the next time they attack any other Indian city, Barkha will provide them with live feed on TV as to how the Indian commando's are planning to enter the building and where are the loved one's of the people who have escaped are hiding?
All the terrorists should do is to tune in to NDTV, they will get live update thanks to Barkha!!
So where was Prannoy Roy during that time, preening his beard before appearing in front of TV? Talk about editorial standards??? Are there any on NDTV?

How about technology to block of TV channels/mobile communications from a hostage situation. What barkha would be telling people would be common tactics which millitary commander and terrorists would already be aware of. I still agree wholeheartedly that there should be limit to what is shown on TV. I'm also wondering why would police millitary be sharing their plans/tactics with anybody from media. Shouldn't they be restricted as well?
hey its right that the military should not have shared their info but these media people suck their blood and ask a bunch of questions that are totally irrelevant and useless considering the situation.....
these media people should be made to stay away from such scenes to maintain the peace and harmony.....
I think a simple solution is to have strict guidelines like BCCI has, for the millitart personnel. I'm sure the media extracts information through bribery of different kinds(fame,fortune,sex), the personnel should be told strictly about disincentives to speak before media during such ops. Ofcourse they can discourse to their hearts' content when the op is over.
Jouranlism - the so called fourth pillar in democracy has been miserably getting corrupted by greed & power. It is losing vision, becoming directionless due to bunch of selfish power centers in the country. And in fact, there's no vision left - no surprise that today at the age of 25 i'm not able to see any hero in the country like India. Whom shall i look upto for inspiration? The question remains unanswered. Yeah there are few left - but they are way too in background to inspire billions.
It's time that we take the situation in our hand and do something about it. India needs to awaken from the sweet 'independence dream' - the real enemies are here within the country. What's the point in blaming a channel or a news journalist if we can just discuss and 'do' nothing about it.
Please spread the awareness and let's start taking small initiatives - we've already started taking small steps to help the society, to help India a better, stronger & brighter country!

i agree that we should spread awareness amongst the masses.... if we will not do it then nothing is gonna happen.....
and u are right as of now there is no one who can be a perfect package and can be an ideal for the the youth to whom they can look up to.....
