    Hi Rashi,

Even I have had wondered this question for a long time, but unlike most of the secular coutries, one needs to understand the roots of Pakistan which is NOT based on secularism and democracy, hence what the majority of people think and what the government wants to implement could be divided by a great vally.

So, even if the govt. of Pak doesnt want (or so does it look like sometimes) the people of Pak are not favoring govt. in the aspect.

Pakistan will never come down heavily against these groups for two reasons:

    1. The common Pakistan population is already against the wall, with no clear opinion against such outfits, a push in this direction can easily make things go out of control

    2. The passive support to such groups always gives the Pakistan govt. some room in negotiations with the US govt.
