If you are a desi in the US and have not been locked up in a basement for the past couple of weeks, then you most likely know about the big brouhaha surrounding the sequence of events in which the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) first announced that it will start accepting green card applications from all eligible candidates and then, on the very first day of acceptance, issue another directive, revoking the previous announcement.
