The primary responsibility of a cricket captain is to build a ‘winning team’ we also have the makings of a good captain in MS Dhoni. He has been given the responsibility, win or lose he should be given a free hand. He is building his team, he is doing it the way he believes is best, we need to show our faith in him - and let him do his job.

    i agree with u awmyth.... if he has the guts and has the ability to develop a winning team he should be given the complete authority to do so......

    and if he is stopped or his work is interrupted he is definitely not going to take it.....

    the selectors should give him a free hand and then if he fails should catch hold of him.....

    Thanks Denny, I believe he is the best option for the captains role at the moment. Once all the 5 big names quit - it will be team rebuilding - not unlike what Saurav did in 2000. To do that a captain needs more authority and choice to build his team - he is the one on the field working strategies based on player strengths - not the selectors.
