Cricket: Only Jaipur and Punjab knew about 2nd auction before IPL-I, says John Buchanan | IPL Cricket

In his just-released book, ‘The Future of Cricket: The Rise of Twenty20′, John Buchanan has hinted that barring Team Jaipur and Kings XI Punjab, all the other six IPL teams did not know about the second player auction in 2008. Buchanan says in the book: “We (Knight Riders) spent all but $107,000 of our funds in the first auction. I noted with curiosity after the initial auction that Jaipur fined for keeping $2 million of their salary cap up their sleeve.
