Cricket: Meaningful Victory?

Cricket is also being played away from the test nations. It is the same game of cricket. But the prize is not $1 million - just a trophy and a handshake. The intercontinental cup. But is it worth the effort? - A question blogged by andruid for "Silly Points"

The ICC would do so well by being proactive and lending a helping to the upcoming teams that are doing well. There should be a particular standard maintained. A team like Bangladesh which has been playing international cricket for close to 20 years now and still can't manage to establish themselves should be replaced by the Intercontinental Cup winners in the Test League. Let teams fight for the Test spot. Only then would poor performers like Bangladesh start taking cricket seriously and the ones like Ireland who are doing well would get the necessary encouragement. At the moment it way too simple for Bangladesh and way too tough for the likes of Ireland.

i think the test status should not be given very easily to nay new nation now....

there should be contests of these countries with the A teams of the international test playing nations.... then their performance should be reviewed and then some productive actions much be taken....

also one option can be to win a particular number of matches to hold on to that position.....
