great decision Jumbo - farewell to thee, you have been one of india's strongest pillars in bowling. Could have retired a bit earlier but in time nevertheless.

I guess Kumble's retirement couldn't have come at a better time with his successors (both as a captain & a legspinner) pretty much establishing themselves...

i think this is one of the very good decisions that Kumble has made in his life... i personally wish that he should have captained the side for the last test also but never mind...
but guys has any one try to think that why this decision was so sudden.... i mean just the previous day our reliable selector Dilip Vengsarkar had commented on his form and his captaincy, so can we find a logical link between the two....
i donno why this idiot opens his mouth to disgrace the seniors????

yep denny, the decision came all of a sudden, which was surprising a bit too, i can think of the following reasons:
1) He is injured, might miss out on the last test...
2) Dhoni did well, and Amit Mishra is bowling good, so his replacements are ready, almost!
3) Ganguly was retiring after the 4th test, so he thought not to retire on the same day... not a bad thought,
4) Not happy with the media's reactions, comments from people like dilip vengsarkar, selectors and board's way of handling seniors!
Anyways, its time for him to retire for sure, it was all a matter of this series or the next one,
cheers!

i agree with u seo....but what do feel abt the way the selectors are treating the senior players...
dont u feel its just an insult to the hard work they have put on for years...
it was because of these people that India is today what it is.... they have worked hard and got the status for the country...

but thats definitely not fair to them... they have worked out their entire life to make this country a bloody somebody in the world of cricket and when its time to rip the fruits they are just being tortured and kicked like a bloody no one....
i will really hate the selectors and the BCCI and especially Mr Dilip cheap Vengsarkar for this.....
