In normal circumstances, Australia’s unprecedented first-round exit from the World T20 would have prompted scathing criticism Down Under. The outrage will be a bit tempered, however, because of the fact that the Ashes are round the corner. Some might even explain away the loss by suggesting that Twenty20 is ‘fun cricket’, as Younis Khan so curiously suggested after Pakistan lost to England.
