England pace bowler Graham Onions said it felt “unbelievable” to have retained his place in the squad for Wednesday’s first Ashes Test against Australia in Cardiff. The 26-year-old Onions, who only made his Test debut earlier this season against the West Indies, was named Sunday in a 13-man squad. In the process he beat off competition for a spot from fellow Durham quick Stephen Harmison, who played alongside Onions in the England Lions side that drew with Australia this week at Worcester.
