On 27th April 2011. BCCI appointed Duncan Fletcher as a coach of the Indian cricket team with two year contract. He is former captain of the Zimbabwe cricket team and coach of the England cricket team. He has never played Test Cricket. Fletcher was first Zimbabwe One day international cricket team captain, under his captancy Zimbabwe won ICC Trophy in 1982 and Zimbabwe defeated Australia in 1983 cricket World Cup and for his performance he won the man of the match award in this match.
