  It is really depressing to see India not taking any steps to actively solicit such semiconductor fabs. India has the semiconductor design capability and also the ability to program the chips. The only thing that is required to complete the ecosystem is hardware mfg. which would really kick start India's hardware industry. Govt. has made many promising statements but no action has been taken to make infrastructure favorable in zones where such investments can be attracted.
