I think petrol costs much less in US than in India - any idea why? its 3$ to the gallon. Gallon is 3.8 litres. so less than 40 re per litre. Is petrol subsidised in US as well? Or I think we might be imposing taxes on petrol to recover subsidy in diesel?

yes, later is correct but with the correction, the price of diesel is not subsidised.

hey januram its easy to tel the figures but if it reaches there then the people are goin to suffer like anything.

already hey are facing a tough challenge by this increase.

but one positive point can be many will stop using their private vehicles and start using public transport but the govt is not prepared for this

even bank transactions, shopping and other such deals will take place more on the internet which will again open the market for internet and employment opportunities

I just cant imagine what januram has said. But, i feel he is true. It will ruin our economy, unless we find oil reserves in india.

but from where can we find oil reserves in India? it is not a short term thing, it shoul have been geographically there to extract oil.... if we dont take some different steps like the ones I have suggested we wil just have to wait and watch ourselves suffer.......
