Business: Destination Newry | Halocaust

Eva Clarke's mother, Anka, was a 23 year old student in Prague when the Nazis took Czechoslovakia. Eva, who is now in her sixties, was conceived during Anka's imprisonment in Terezin. Anka then spent the full nine months of her pregnancy in Auschwitz before Eva was born en route to another camp. Eva's Father, Bernard Nathan, was a German-Jewish architect who was shot near Auschwitz a week before liberation. He never even knew that Anka was pregnant. Eva simply survived because three days after her birth the American Army liberated the new camp which her mother had been moved to.
