Business: Congratulations Mamta Banerji!!! Tata Motors's Love Affair with Singur is Over!!!

Mamta Banerji and group must be making merry across the state of West Bengal for their successfull run against Tatas. I can't imagine How FOOLISH RATAN TATA was in the first place to even dream of doing something like this in West Bengal.. Anyways, Mamta Didi you are a great inspiration for your Commie bros and sisters in Kerala, Watch out whats coming next!! What a pathetic story!

I think bengalis have such a penchant for communism that no matter which party they will belong they will always be behaving like trade union leaders.

So is 'God's Own Country' aka Kerala, they managed to shutdown Coca Cola from there (though there somethings which are still unclear what Coke actually did) but over all they killed it.

Mamata Banerjee is no politician. She doesn't give a toss about the 'landlost' farmers. And she just proved she doesn't care about her state. This was all to try and extend her votebank into the communist stronghold, the rural bengal.

I hope the people of my state wakes up and recognises her as an idiot and a psychopathic drama queen - with not intelligence, forget political acumen.

Its time to give a kick up her backside.

The communists, although were the party that brought in Tata; I have no sympathy for them. They got caught in their own trap. For thirty years their policies drove out industry, its the same tactic that has boomeranged.

I feel sad for my state. The left kept us in the dark ages for 30 years, now MB has pushed us again for another 30.

Ever single Malayali I have come across is frustrated with the way Commies have run their state, so it looks like with WB, even then one thing I cant digest is, why the heck both the states are still having a Commi Policies and Drama Kings and Queens... why cant these citizens of the respective state kick them out long time ago????

as i said earlier either ppl are not capable of thinking good for themselves or they have a blind faith in these leftists and they feel that having them will be a boon for the future generation but instead its a curse....

I think coke and Tata motors are two separate issues. In my opinion coke offers nothing of value just bottled water with sugar. However Tata motors was here with one of the most ambitious projects in the world and Tata are an indigenous company. Really unfortunate what happened in West Bengal.

    • Avatar | written by wdm2a 102 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

Yeah two separate incidents however the underlying mentality of the crowd was same, somehow anyhow get rid of any corporation who wants to have a factory/office or anything in the name of sanity that will give any oppurtunity of decent employment to the masses... get rid of it and get rid of it quickly.

I can gurantee that (being a Mallu/Malayali myself) that NO Organization, I repeat NO Organization would be allowed to prosper in the state of Kerala, something that have taken in us our birth rights!

      Wanna know examples:

      1. If Saddam Hussien was hanged in Iraq, there was a state wide Bandh not any single place on earth but in Kerala.

      2. When there was an attack in Ayodhya a few years ago, even People in Ayodhya didnt know that Keralites had called Bandh in their name

3.When globally price of Oil of is boiling, in the name of insanity they called Bandh in Kerala

And if I go on, I'm sure I can complete an Encyclopedia of issues on which Keralites have called Bandh...

Hence if you have an office in a State which DOESNT allow business 300 days in a year, how on this earth you are going to generate any volume let alone profit????

What a pathetic state for the State of KErala!!

i think Mamta banerjee should be kicked out of the state as soon as possible....

i think she is so selfish and has no brains and even cant think that she has made one of the biggest mistakes of her life by rejecting this plant of Tata...

i think these politicians should think of the long run that how much employment it would have generated and how much revenue the state could have generated in the future........

if the ppl can think abt themselves then this female should not get any of their votes but if she still remains so powerful in Bengal then no one can help these ppl and they deserve what they get....

btw awmyth are u from Bengal.....

    • Avatar | written by awmyth 102 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

      Hi Denny, yes I am.

And also agree that this is what we deserve. We have the Left in power for thirty years, for the ONLY reason we have not come up with an opposition of intelligence; who thinks about the future of the people.

i agree to both of ur thoughts....

hey but awmyth i pity the ppl of West Bengal as they have hardly got any option....

on one side they have the Lefts ruling them from the past thirty years, on the other hand they have AITC as the major opposition which is equally useless....

but why cant ppl themselves can think of a broader view....

  • Avatar | written by garfield79 102 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

@wdm2a - I did not know that things are so pathetic in kerala. So we are saying that communism is necessarily plagued by such problems. How about China. China has a communist govt but they seem to be doing well. I think the difference is in the motive of people.

    • Avatar | written by wdm2a 102 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

China these days is just a namesake Communist, they are now a complete Capitalism with the exception of Democracy i.e. they are kidna dictatorship under Capitalistic ideology.

      1. They are the Largest Exporters by volume (if not then pretty close)

      2. They are holding their currency under valued

      3. Are attracting investors across the globe

      4. They are the biggest Trade Partners with NAmerica than any other country

So contrary to normal Communist Idealogy they are a pseudo-Communist Empire who have embraced Globalization by all means

Moral of the Story: Communism HAS NEVER WORKED, NOR EVER WILL.

BUT: Fellows like Mamta Didi simply dont understand it, and for their personal gain are killing thousands in starvation.

  • Avatar | written by shaan333 102 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

Kerala is suffering a lot because of the politics.goverment is just doing nothing and all the parties are always busy in killing each other. Its not just between any two particular parties. All parties are killing members of each other.

@WDM2A, very good observation brother. . . . . Hope that communist from our country will also understand this thing.

  • Avatar | written by denny 101 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

hey wdm bro that was a really very careful and proper observation.....

i think the reason Kerela is not the number one state of India even after such a high literacy rate is coz these politicians have not allowed them to grow but only do things which support their selfish interests.....

  • Avatar | written by Tweetytinkle 101 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

Kerala is a number one state in literacy.Majority of the Mallus are professionals abroad and are millionaires. Sadly the state suffers due to the politics. For everything there is a bandh-they have a fascination for it.Cochin airport is one of the best airports I have seen in India and seems to be coming up.Hopefully these political parties don't meddle in it.

    • Avatar | written by wdm2a 101 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

CIAL (Cochin International Airport Limited) is Govt. Enterprise was a dream project of an IAS officer who stood up against the current and made it to realization and I'm pretty sure there aren't many bravehearts like him (sorry cant recall his name)

Secondly, Education System in Kerala is a joke, why? In North India (MP, Rajasthan and New Delhi where I have lived most of my life) anyone could easily afford BSc. BA or BCom without any hassel however to get admission in a college in Kerala (or anywhere in South) one has to pay a horrendous amount of money, to get into Medical College / Engineering College is signing yourself a Bankcorruptcy Note!!!

    • Avatar | written by denny 101 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

      hey wdm r u serious???

a normal graduation course costs and still the literacy rate is so high.....

even in Maharashtra the basic courses like BA, B.COM are very cheap and affordable.....

and pls recall the name of that brave heart of India would definitely like to know abt him......

Non Residential Indians from Kerala has made Kerala the worst place to live than doing any good. They have boosted inflation like anything! Wanna see an example:

In circa 2004 cost of 1 Kg. Onion

      1. Rajasthan (Barmer/Jodhpur area)= Rs 4 per kg.

      2. New Delhi = Rs 8 per kg

      3. Kerala (Tiruvalla) = Rs 18 per kg.

I'm sure this might not have changed much in terms of ratio.

    • Avatar | written by wdm2a 101 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

I dont know how the IT and ITES are functioning in Kerala, I guess its a ticking time bomb.. and soon those guys will have to pull their shutters down and go somewhere else, may be TN or AP.

u r lucky tht u never gt the chance to live thr in kerala....otherwise it wont be strange whatever i m talking abt...i wasted 2 precious years of my student life here and still gonna waste 2 more.......honestly speaking kepp your childs away from this place...at least for study purpose

    • Avatar | written by wdm2a 101 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

Its a real blessing that you have not lived in Kerala.

Its as good as a curse if you really dont have any relative/support from anyone who is an NRK.

Secondly, the attitude of Mallu people (those who are bonafide) is really arrogant and showy and thats why this state is under such a big turmoil.

Ever heard of a strike from Maids/Servants or by two laborers in a bakery?? This happens in Kerala.

  • Avatar | written by denny 101 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

hey tweety so u are currently residing in Singapore....good we have foreigners in rambhai too...lol

    i mean NRIs.....

  • Avatar | written by Tweetytinkle 101 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

There are quite a few followers of rambhai here though they don't post stuff. It has good content.I do agree that NRI population in Kerala maybe the cause of inflating the price.I think to go to Palakkad the best is through coimbatore-otherwise it is liking taking taxi ride from Mumbai airport to Ahmednagar.Your student days are the best be it anywhere...enjoy them....I thought the entrance exam is a must for all government engg colleges in Kerala - not based on your std 12 results.

  • Avatar | written by shaan333 101 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

WDM2A bro, when i got the admission at that time for government seats it was 7k and for private colleges merit seats 40k and management seats 60k.

    Congratulations mamta.. u did it!!

Btw, does anyone know why did Tata propose Singur?? I mean.. what factor of industry.. labor, capital, land, what influenced the decision?

Nd why, why have the postors above changed topic.. well, I guess is that a common human tendency to go off track in every discussion??

    • Avatar | written by wdm2a 101 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

      @Kumpal

As I said, Ratan Tata went nuts!! That he dared to dream a dream till it crashed!

Its impossible to make anything run in a Commi state, simple as that, they will dig out anything in the name of insanity to pull the shutters down of any organization let alone Tata.

    • Avatar | written by garfield79 100 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

I think labour cost is really low in Bengal and adjoining states. There is a huge influx of people coming into Delhi from those areas in want of better labour rates. That's why Tata probably chose to get into that area and you need to keep ur production costs really low to produce a 1 lakh car. Land was also very cheap there.

  • Avatar | written by denny 98 days ago Rating: 0 | Rate comment: + -

hey thats is true the labor costs are low but then the labor should work....

as everyone know that in a commi state it is not only difficult but also impossible to get the work done from the laborers without facing three to four strikes a month....

so i suppose Ratan Tata was highly optimistic to be setting up an industry in West Bengal....
